Snow at the water

I awoke this morning alittle later than usual to find our home surrounded by snow and my four skylights covered in snow.  I could not see the Intracoastal waterway (that is less than 300ft from my patio). The sky was very grey. Normally I can see small islands and the south end of the beach.  Some birds were on the patio searching for food and they looked so very cold. One dove just sat there for hours. I wasn't sure he was still alive.  I have enjoyed all the photos that friends and family have taken on this snow day, especially the children playing in the snow.  I have not enjoyed being so cold, but am thankful that I have a home and it is heated.  I am praying we do not lose power...I do not enjoy being cold.  I can't seem to tolerate it as much as I have aged.
